The China Fund, Inc. Announces Final Results of Tender Offer

NEW YORK, Feb. 11, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The China Fund, Inc. (NYSE: CHN) (the "Fund") announced today that, in accordance with its tender offer (the "Offer") to purchase up to 4,716,803 of the Fund's issued and outstanding shares of common stock, par value $0.01 (the "Shares"), which expired on February 5, 2019, the Fund has accepted 4,716,803 Shares for payment on or about February 12, 2019 at $20.61 per Share, which is equal to 99% of the Fund's net asset value per Share as of the close of regular trading on the New York Stock Exchange on February 6, 2019 (the "Purchase Price"). The Fund will make prompt payment to participating stockholders of the Purchase Price for Shares accepted in the tender offer. The 4,716,803 Shares represent 30% of the Fund's outstanding Shares as of January 4, 2019. A total of approximately 11,586,494 Shares were properly tendered and not withdrawn by February 5, 2019, the final date for withdrawals. Therefore, on a pro rata basis, approximately 40.71% of the Shares so tendered have been accepted for payment.
