Johnstown, PA, Dec. 11, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) President and CEO, Edward J. Sheehan, Jr., has been elected to the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Board of Directors. He is among a class of 16 new board members elected by the NDIA membership.

The NDIA, which has 1,600 corporate and 85,000 individual members, is a non-partisan, non-profit association that educates its constituencies on all aspects of national security. The group drives strategic dialogue by identifying key issues and leveraging the knowledge and experience of its military, government, industry, and academic members to address them. The NDIA Board of Directors is comprised of senior leaders from across the broad spectrum of companies in the defense industrial base that support national security.

Mr. Sheehan has more than 37 years of corporate, management, and programmatic experience with a variety of large and small businesses throughout the United States. In addition to his role as President and CEO of CTC, Mr. Sheehan is Vice Chairman of CTC’s Board of Directors, Vice Chairman and President of the CTC Foundation, and Chairman of the Board of Enterprise Ventures Corporation, a for-profit subsidiary of CTC. Under his leadership, CTC has earned a number of national and international awards for technical and organizational excellence, including Gold and Silver Edison Awards, several Best for Vets Employer recognitions, an OSHA VPP Star Award, and many others.

Mr. Sheehan serves on the Board of Directors of 1st Summit Bank and the Friends of Flight 93 National Memorial, as well as the boards of a number of Pennsylvania-based economic development, public service, and charitable organizations in a volunteer capacity. He is a member of the Western Region Advisory Board of Highmark, Inc.; a University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown Advisory Board Member; Vice Chair and Board Member of the John P. Murtha Foundation; and he is a member of the Council of the Pennsylvania Society.
