VENTAS INC. - Ventas Inc (VTR) is this a good time to buy? - 02/17/2020 (GMT)

VTR is one of the most popular dividend yield stocks in US market. Despite high volatility (above 20% both 6 months & 12 months) it's a regular holding in many mutual funds and ETFs focused in yield distribution. We can easily identify a several times tested support between 54 USD & 56 USD (successfully tested in December 2018, April 2019 and finally December 2019. Since then, the stock increased nearly 12% with a decrease in volatility (14% last month) and building a sustainable uptrend. In addition, it has a positive volume balance which is a signal of good health. 

Despite the recently month-long downward price correction (October-November 2019), which leads the stock price decrease more than 20%, the major trend remains upwards. However, the major support remains well below the current stock price, in the area between 42 and 46 USD. Investors should be aware of the potential downside before opening a long position. 

With 18 years of dividend growth in a row, a dividend yield above 5% and a payout ratio of 80%, this is a company that investors shouldn't dismiss in a dividend focused portfolio.
