Update on the cyber attack

On the 24th of January 2019, Altran was the target of a cyber attack affecting operations in several European countries. Thanks to immediate action, the malware was quickly isolated.

As confirmed by the French National Cybersecurity Agency, ANSSI, the malware was a crypto locker virus using a never before seen code that was non-detectable by best-in-class firewall and IT defense mechanisms, and required a newly tailored remediation protocol from a leading global services provider.

Altran reaffirms, based on thorough analysis with independent global third-party technical experts and forensics, that there has been no possible risk of contamination or propagation to its clients, and that no data was stolen or lost.

Altran has rolled out a thorough remediation procedure following the highest standards. This procedure is now reaching completion. All systems and devices will be fully functional in the next few days. All client operations will also be back to normal in the same timeframe.

Throughout this process Altran has been in constant communication with clients to keep them duly informed on its findings on the forensics and on the various steps of the recovery process and the stringent safety measures taken while restoring the operations. Altran remains committed to provide the best quality of service to its clients. It has acted in full transparency with them and is committed to continue to do so.

To protect its clients' interests, Altran took all necessary measures including filing complaints and working proactively and hand-in-hand with relevant authorities. Due to the ongoing investigations, Altran will not provide further details until full year results at the end of this month.
