NORMA Group and Frankfurt School of Finance & Management honor the best master's theses on supply chain management

Maintal/Frankfurt, Germany, November 19, 2018 - For the fifth time in a row, NORMA Group sponsored the Manufacturing Management Award of the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management ("Frankfurt School"). The company and the business school teamed up to honor outstanding theses by graduates of the Frankfurt School's "Master in Management" program. The master's theses focused on the potential of modern supply chain management for industrial companies.

"It is particularly important to us to promote current and future experts and to advance research on industry's relevant questions. After all, we want to continue to expand our technological leadership, which means we rely on scientific findings," said Dr. Friedrich Klein, NORMA Group's Chief Operating Officer. "We are pleased to have a partner at our side in the Frankfurt School who combines high educational quality with practical research."

Dr. Friedrich Klein honored the four prize-winners at the award ceremony held in Frankfurt's Paulskirche on November 16, 2018. Henrike Duda was awarded first prize, a EUR 1500 endowment, for her work on risk management in the supply chain. Lorenz Albeck received second prize and EUR 1000 for his empirical study on supplier development. Tobias Thamm and Rok Vrčkovnik shared the third prize of EUR 500. In his thesis supervised by NORMA Group, Thamm analyzed the sustainability of improvement programs in the company's production system, and Vrčkovnik addressed machine learning in supply chain management.

Professor Dr. Nils Stieglitz, President of the Frankfurt School, said: "We would like to sincerely thank NORMA Group for its commitment and long-standing cooperation, which is inspiring and beneficial for both sides. For our graduates, the award is an incentive to address topics related to industrial production and a further motivation to deliver excellent performance."

Since 2014, NORMA Group has financed the Manufacturing Management Award of the Frankfurt School as well as sponsored the endowed professorship for Operations and Technology Management. NORMA Group has partnered with the school since 2012. The cooperation comprises further training programs in the field of project management and the "Excellence in General Management" program for executives. NORMA Group also regularly supports master's students in their final theses and offers internships and working student jobs.
