TM Advertising Acquired by Agency Management Team

PR Newswire

DALLAS, May 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- TM Advertising in Dallas, Texas, has been sold to the agency's management team in an acquisition led by CEO Becca Weigman.

The new TM management team is made up of five Executives who represent a cross-section of marketing disciplines.

With a storied history dating back more than 80 years, TM is one of the Southwest's most influential advertising and marketing communications agencies. The Dallas agency has been part of The Interpublic Group of Companies (NYSE:IPG) since 2001. Terms of the sale have not been disclosed. TM will continue to have access to McCann Worldgroup's international and domestic resources when necessary.

The new management team for TM is made up of five Executives, who represent a cross-section of marketing disciplines:

  • Becca Weigman, Chief Executive Officer
  • Lisa Bennett, Chief Creative Officer
  • Tyler Beck, Chief Strategy Officer
  • Kim Moss, Chief Media Officer
  • Jeff Kempf, Chief Digital Officer

"We've enjoyed a terrific partnership with IPG and McCann Worldgroup," said Becca Weigman. "TM has always had an independent spirit and a nimble, modern approach to building our clients' businesses. As we built our total communications capabilities and focused our growth plan on a broad range of U.S. clients, our team felt it was time for TM to return to its roots as an independent agency."

TM has recruited top executive talent over the last two years. Lisa Bennett, who had previously held a top North American creative position at DDB Worldwide, joined as Chief Creative Officer in late 2015.  Last year, Tyler Beck joined as Chief Strategy Officer from Publicis Dallas. For three years in a row, the agency has been on Advertising Age's "Best Places to Work" list. Clients include Universal Orlando Resort, Community Coffee, American Airlines Credit Union, Statoil, Texas Rangers and Japan Airlines to name a few.

TM is now the only female-owned brand creative agency in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  "We couldn't be more excited about the opportunities ahead of us to partner with companies as a diverse supplier for those that advocate for the development and growth of minority-owned businesses," said Weigman.

TM Advertising, a full-service advertising agency with deep Texas roots dating back to 1934, handles a portfolio of top brands spanning such categories as finance, food and beverage, travel and entertainment, oil and gas, fast casual restaurants and technology.
