Trading on Public Holidays?

Today being a public holiday on the stock markets, I’m opening the question: should you trade on public holidays?
This question implies: is it reasonable to trade on public holidays? Is it profitable to trade on public holidays?

Even though the main stock exchanges are closed, Forex and CFD trading remain open. The main problem comes from the lack of volatility. The volumes traded on Forex and CFD are always lower during a public holiday, a consequence of a decrease in the number of participants.
But then, with lower volumes, don't the big players have more weight to move the products in the direction of their choice?

My opinion on the matter
I tend not to trade (stay flat) on public holidays. But today is a public holiday with some big economic news about the US Dollar. So I’m keeping my eyes open and pretending that today is just another session.
On the other hand, I would never speculate on products with an inactive (closed) underlying asset.

And you, what do you think?
